WILD WEST SARDINIA

Profumo di Elicriso ((Montevecchio/Nebida)

The area we are going to explore is a natural wonder, preserved in its original form. The landscape is diverse, ranging from towering volcanic mountains to multi-coloured cliffs that rise steeply from the clear sea. Dense forests of holm-oak and pine trees and extensive sandy beaches, where strong winds create Europe’s highest dunes, are also present. The same winds have influenced the rich Mediterranean flora, which is home to rare and endemic species. The remains of the ancient mining industry that dominated the area’s economy at the turn of the twentieth century are also evident. Nature dominates this region and attempts to restore the balance with humans who have taken more than given back. This struggle is evident in the stunning sunsets that nature creates.
